The Market of the Performative Arts of the South Atlantic, MAPS 2019, complete your program with the participation of 166 artistic groups and agencies from 35 countries in this important international meeting that will be held in Tenerife between July 10 and 14. Programmers' registration, which is open to program managers, curators, artistic directors and cultural managers from around the world, ends tomorrow, Saturday, June 15.
All companies, artists and Confirmed musical groups will participate in the business conference. 60 of them, from 24 countries, have also been selected to perform before the public and programmers in the shows that during those five days will occupy the main stages of the capital of Tenerife. The Tenerife Auditorium and its surroundings, the Guimerá Theater, La Granja Espacio de Promoción and the IES Alcalde Bernabé are some of the venues chosen for these theater, dance, circus, street arts and music performances, which expect to receive more than 20,000 attendees, in line with the influx received in previous editions.
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes and the Museum of Nature and Archeology complete the headquarters of the Market, where the business conference will be held and an intense program of training, informative activities and debates that will feature internationally relevant speakers and professional meetings from institutions linked to music and the performing arts around the world.
MAPS 2019, organized by the Cabildo de Tenerife, unahoramenos and Circulart, has included this year as a novelty the participation of booking, management and distribution agencies for which a total of 33 have been selected from 12 countries and who will be able to take part in the business conference to be held on July 12 and 13, together with artists from Africa, Latin America and Southern Europe and programmers from any country.
Regarding the artistic and musical groups, the origin is diverse, with 64 from Southern Europe (Spain and Portugal), of which 24 will participate in the samples; 45 artists and musicians, from Latin America, with 18 performances; and 24 participants from the African continent, of which 18 will perform before the public and the programmers. By countries, MAPAS 2019 will feature creators from Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Venezuela, Egypt, Ghana, Rwanda, Tunisia, Morocco, Mali, Cameroon or Madagascar, among others. The South Atlantic Performative Arts Market will once again turn Tenerife into an international reference for the performing arts and music, occupying the main cultural spaces of the capital in a proposal that combines professional management with artistic exhibition, training and analysis, with the aim of giving international projection to the proposals of creators from Africa, Latin America and Southern Europe and to strengthen the structures of the creative industries.
