The complications derived from the expansion of the covid-19 pandemic have ended up causing the cancellation of MAPS 2020, which was scheduled to take place from July 8 to 11 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, despite the efforts made by the organizing entities of the Mercado de las Artes Performativas del Atlántico Sur, Cabildo de Tenerife, unahoramenos and Circulart.
After the great expectations generated at the beginning of the year, the organizers have decided to postpone the meeting considering that the health and well-being of the participants, artistic groups and cultural programmers The majority of international origin, as well as that of the citizens of Tenerife, has to prevail over other issues. The call made at the beginning of the year registered 2,286 proposals from 71 countries in Latin America, Africa and southern Europe, with an increase of 161,56% compared to 2019, which augured for this edition an important qualitative leap.
As a cultural project that bases its activity on the mobility of programmers and artists and its dissemination in international exhibition circuits, MAPAS wants to maintain this dynamic of work and contact with the performing arts and music sector. For this, it will continue with communication through its social networks with all the news that may arise and are of interest to the community it represents.
