Poetry in motion
The artistic director of Lava, Daniel Abreu, has created for the inauguration of MAPS 2019 an evocative and poetic piece –recommended for adult audiences– that recreates through dance a pure and deep geography, of water between sediments and air, of shade, calm, unimaginable fauna, an impossible place to inhabit. Abreu himself explains in his description of Abyssal that "love is what moves the world and each one of the actions of these six interpreters goes towards it". During the 60 minutes that the show lasts, the love of dance expressed through movement joins the audience in a sensory dialogue. "In my imagination it takes me to the deep sea blue, to the beautiful creatures and to extensive sediments of obsidian or any other volcanic residue", indicates its director and creator.
Lava Dance Company It is part of the Tenerife Danza framework program, which encompasses all dance programs organized by the Culture area of the Cabildo Insular through the Tenerife 2030 strategy. Its artistic director, born in Tenerife, has extensive experience as a performer. In 2004 he created his own company, with which he has toured Africa, Europe, America and Asia. In addition, Daniel Abreu has been distinguished with various awards, such as the 2014 National Dance Award in the category of creation.
