Campus MAPAS is the first of the training initiatives for this edition to be launched. <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Workshops will be held face-to-face, with one session in each capital city, on consecutive days: in Gran Canaria on Thursdays and in Tenerife on Fridays.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The first face-to-face activities are currently being launched for the fifth edition of MAPAS, the South Atlantic Performing Arts Market, which will be held from 4 to 9 July. Campus MAPAS is a training programme comprising six workshops aimed at performing arts companies and artists looking to boost their professional projects and open up new pathways for internationalisation.<\/p>\n

The workshops will be held face-to-face throughout May and June<\/strong> at Teatro Cuy\u00e1s in Gran Canaria and at the Casa de la Cultura at Parque La Granja in Tenerife. Each workshop will take place in both capitals on consecutive days from 9:00 to 13:00: on Thursdays in Gran Canaria and on Fridays in Tenerife. The organisers of MAPAS aim to encourage continuous training as a key component in the development of the music and performing arts industries. Training is one of the pillars underpinning the event, supplementing the networking events and showcase performances.<\/p>\n

Campus MAPAS programme<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Gemma Quintana will lead the workshop \u2018From idea to performing arts project\u2019 on 12 May in Gran Canaria and 13 May in Tenerife. On 19 and 20 May, Toni Gonz\u00e1lez will discuss \u2018Internationalisation and pathways to international circulation\u2019. Merce Puy will talk about \u2018Management and administration of performing arts companies and venues\u2019 on 26 May in Gran Canaria and on 27 May in Tenerife. On 2 and 3 June in Gran Canaria and Tenerife respectively, the \u2018Public recruitment of professionals from the cultural sector\u2019 workshop will be presented by a speaker still to be confirmed. Ana Bel\u00e9n Santiago and Octavio Arbel\u00e1ez will deliver the workshop \u2018How to participate effectively in markets and fairs\u2019 on 9 and 10 June. Finally, on 16 and 17 June, Pepe Zapata will lead the workshop \u2018Audiences, communication and digital transformation\u2019.<\/p>\n

With this training programme, MAPAS aims to provide artists, professionals and companies that are part of the value chain in the Canary Islands performing arts scene with methodological tools to help boost the sector. Participants in the training programme will discover opportunities to expand their usual circuits and identify new opportunities for growth and distribution.<\/p>\n

MAPAS 2022, organised by the Canary Islands Government, the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, unahoramenos and Circulart, will be held in Gran Canaria and Tenerife from 4 to 9 July. The list of artists, companies booking<\/em>, management <\/em>and distribution agencies from Africa, South America and Southern Europe (Spain and Portugal) that will be attending this fifth edition of the market will be published on 9 May.
