MAPAS opens with a musical, historical and dance tribute that connects the Canary Islands with the world<\/b><\/p>\n

Let the devil make a fire. Give me Canarian wine and you, my beloved, rest here \u201d. In this passage from Henry IV, the universal writer William Shakespeare was already discovering to us in the 16th century the value of the wines of the Islands. This is the premise from which the opening show<\/strong> of the second edition of MAPAS<\/strong>, <\/span>Canary Islands: came to the world<\/span><\/i>, a journey through \u201cthe music, stories and dances that connect the Canary Islands with the world through wine\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

This artistic tribute will take place on Wednesday, July 11, at 9:30 p.m., in the Symphonic Hall of the Tenerife Auditorium<\/strong>. <\/span>Canary Islands: came to the world<\/span><\/i> It is an original production of the South Atlantic Performative Arts Market<\/strong>, based on a universal theme rooted in the Archipelago. In it, rhythms, choreographies, words and images come together in a dialogue with the public who will savor \u201cthe sensations of wine, root music and dance\u201d in \u201ca curious and complex experience\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

The show, 75 minutes long and free entrance<\/strong>, recreates on the stage of the Symphonic Hall brushstrokes of "history, creativity and sensory pleasure", indicates its musical director and creator Benito Cabrera<\/strong>, through music and dance. Elements linked to the world of wine such as barrels, jugs, bottles or glasses "become musical instruments that combine with the essence" Let the devil make fire. Give me Canarian wine and you, my beloved, rest here "Canarian musical". <\/span><\/p>\n

This will be joined by body percussion, images, choreographies and narration that will deepen the importance of Canarian wine<\/strong> through historical and anecdotal data. <\/span><\/p>\n

Ten musicians and four dancers will give life to this unique proposal, specially designed for the inauguration of MAPAS<\/strong>, in a dialogue with the viewer who speaks \u201cfrom the Canary Islands towards the universality of our culture\u201d.\u00a0<\/span>Quite a party<\/strong> of tastings that will end with a dj session and gastronomic proposals that can be enjoyed by all those who join this inaugural act of MAPAS<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
